Project Description

The scope of works involves furnishing the necessary labour, materials, equipment and services for the expansion of Buwuni town water supply system, and consists of the following main elements: Construction of 1 No. pump station; Supply, installation and commissioning of 1 No. Submersible pump with discharge of 16.6m3/hr at a head 137m including all associated accessories, powered by Umeme grid and a standby 35kVA diesel generator; supply, laying and commissioning of 1.5km of OD 90mm PN 16 transmission mains; supply, laying and commissioning of 2km of OD 110mm uPvc and OD 50mm-OD 75mm HDPE PN 6 distribution pipe works and associated fittings; construction of a 176m3-capacity cold pressed panel steel storage tank raised on a 1.5m dwarf walls; construction of a Water Office inclusive of perimeter fencing, supply of furniture and basic IT equipment, and auxiliary site works; construction of a public waterborne toilet and its ancillary works;extension of 3-phase power over 1.5km to the pump station inclusive of 1no.substation and all works and supplies necessary to make the power connection complete and functional;construction of 1No. Chlorine Dosing Unit equipped with an ElectrolyticDisinfection Machine, dosing equipment and accessories including connection to the electric power grid; and making of 130 private service connections and 4 public standposts
