Project Description

The scope of works involves furnishing the necessary labour, materials, equipment and services for the expansion of Irundu town water supply system, and consists of the following main elements: Construction of 1 No. pump station; Supply, installation and commissioning of 1 No. Submersible pumps with discharge of 15m3/hr at head 97m including all associated accessories, powered a 26kVA diesel generator, supply, laying and commissioning of 50m of OD 63mm PN 16 transmission mains; supply, laying and commissioning of 1.3km of OD 160mm &OD 110mm uPvc and 3.8km OD 50mm and 75mm HDPE PN 6 distribution pipe works and associated fittings; construction of a 138m3-capacity cold pressed panel steel storage tank raised on a 15m steel tower, construction of a Water Office inclusive of perimeter fencing and auxiliary site works and supplies; construction of a public waterborne toilet and its ancillary works; construction of 1No. Chlorine Dosing Unit equipped with an Electrolytic Disinfection Machine and accessories; making of 200 private service connections and 2 public stand posts, construction of an ecosan toilet and guard house at the pump station; renovation works for Katakwi town water office
