Project Description

The scope of works involves furnishing the necessary labour, materials, equipment and services for the expansion of Katakwi town water supply system, and consists of the following main elements: Construction of 2 No.pump stations inclusive of perimeter fencing and other auxiliary site works; supply, installation and commissioning of 2 No. Submersible pumps with discharges of 6m3/hr and 35m3/hr at heads of 194m and 312m respectively, including all associated accessories and control devices, powered by UEDCL and a 45kVA standby diesel generator; supply, laying and commissioning of 4.5km of OD 110mm uPVC PN 16, 4.3km of OD 63mm HDPE PN 16 and 0.3km of ND 150mm GI PN 16 transmission mains including all associated fittings and ancillaries; supply and installation of a prefabricated cold pressed panel steel storage tank of 100m3 capacity raised on 1.2m dwarf walls including all associated fittings, appurtenances, perimeter fencing and site works; construction of a chlorine dosing house fully equipped with a chlorine dosing equipment and all its accessories; supply, laying and commissioning of 7.89km of OD 160mm HDPE PN 10 and 0.98km of ND 100mm & ND 150mm GI PN 10 distribution pipe lines inclusive of all associated fittings and ancillaries and extension of 3-phase UMEME/UEDCL to the pump stations over a distance of 12km inclusive of all substations and approvals necessary to complete the power connection
