Project Description

The scope of works involves furnishing the necessary labour, materials, equipment and services for the expansion of Mbulamuti town water supply system, and consists of the following main elements: Intake works involving construction of a raw water sump and all associated pipes and fittings required for raw water abstraction from River Nile, construction of a raw water pump station, supply, installation and commissioning of 1 No. Submersible raw water pump with a discharge of 13m3/hr at a head of 124m, including all associated accessories and control devices, powered by UEDCL grid and a standby 30kVA diesel generator; supply, laying and commissioning of 5.5km of OD 90mm HDPE PN 16 raw water transmission mains including all associated fittings and ancillaries; construction of water treatment works consisting of supply, installation and commissioning of a conventional package water treatment plant(Dayliff WP) with an output of 10m3/hr and accessories inclusive of all requisite site works; construction of a chlorine dosing house fully equipped with an Electrolytic Disinfection Machine and all its accessories, supply, installation and commissioning of a prefabricated cold pressed panel steel tank of 64m3 effective capacity raised on a steel tower including all associated fittings, appurtenances and site works; supply, laying and commissioning of 8.75km of OD 110mm -50mm uPVC&HDPE PN 6 distribution mains including all associated fittings and ancillaries, construction of a chlorine dosing unit, construction of a guard house, construction of water office, construction of sludge drying beds, extension of 3-phase UMEME/UEDCL power grid to the pump station over a distance of 1.5km inclusive of all substations and approvals necessary to complete the power connection
