Project Name Completion of the remaining works for construction of Amolatar TC Piped WSS.
Scope of contract The project involves: Completion of remaining works for;
  1. i) Construction of a pump house, Generator house, guard house and fencing at each of the pump stations
  2. ii) Construction of an Office block,
  • iii) Installation of fittings and fixtures in distribution and transmission mains,
  1. iv) 2No @8Stance water borne Public toilets
  2. v) Reservoir tanks each 200m³ and 100m³ at Corner Alemere and Aputi respectively
  3. vi) Water kiosks (2No.)
  • vii) Service connections (200No.)
  • Supply of tools and equipment for operation and maintenance
  1. ix) Test running the system for 3 months
Materials for tank and other pipe fittings are already at site

Remarks The contract expired after a contract period of 6 months and the contractor failed to finsih the works. Only 25% of the works were done and 25% of payment was made. The Ministry requested for advice from the Solicitor General and was advised on two options. Either to open up the procurement process or to directly procure the same contractor, however Ministry cannot procure the same contractor due to the fact that his Performance Security was discovered to be fraudulent. Procurement for a new contractor has been initiated. However, for the extension of Hydro-power national grid; WSDF-N awaits clearance from Solicitor General.
